Our Miniature Fluffy Cattle

A Fluffy Friend for Everyone

Miniature Highland Cattle are known for their furry coats and small stature, but there’s a lot to love in that small package! We’ve highlighted each of our cattle in the sections below, but check back often because we’re always growing the herd.

Did you know Miniature Highland Cows can mow your lawn? They naturally graze on grass, and since they are descended from the Scottish Highlands, they do well in cold or warm weather and are very adaptable to almost any climate.

How much space do miniature cattle need? The general rule of thumb is one cow needs two acres of space if you are using your space to graze your cows and you don’t want to supplement with extra hay.  However, remember most dairy farms have 200 cattle inside one building, so the answer is again, it depends: what do you want your farm or home to look like?

Even though they’re smaller, Miniature Highland Cattle live an average of 12-15 years, and possibly even up to 20 years depending on how well they’re cared for.

So how Miniature is Miniature, anyway? Mini Highlands usually range from 36-44 inches in height, and typically weigh between 500 and 800 pounds when fully grown.

Ready to open a cow beauty salon? Miniature Scottish Highland cows love to have their hair brushed! They don’t require brushing, but they love the attention and it’s likely to be fun and relaxing for both of you.
